Kings Of Convenience @ Koninklijk Circus
Voor de eerste keer in België: Kings Of Convenience, de band van Erlend Oye (ook bekend van de zang op Poor Leno en Remind Me van Röyksopp) en Eirik Glambek Bøe.
De Noren begonnen hun concert met z”n 2en, enkel op akoestische gitaar. Bij deze jongens is het woord ‘gitaarwissel’ zeer letterlijk te nemen. Ze spelen dan gewoon enkele nummers met elkaars gitaar.
Halverwege krijgen ze nog versterking van een violist en een contrabassist. Het geheel blijft uiteraard redelijk rustig, Kings Of Convenience zijn immers een van de koplopers van de new accoustic movement.
Rustige, knappe muziek, een paar grapjes tussendoor, enkele samenzangmomenten met het publiek en een dansje met iemand uit het publiek tijdens laatste bisnummer I’d Rather Dance With You. Om het met hun eigen lyrics te zeggen: Sheer simplicity.
